| Hall 1 | ||||
|
Walls of this hall are adorned with Christian freezes and porches long gone in "OxereNakhus" area during excavation works done in the middle epoch of Egypt. These elements are characterized with their geometrical frills. The hall walls exhibit a collection of freezes and carved porches from chalkstones and marble found during the excavations carried out in Al Bahnassa area in Upper Egypt among the ruins of convents and monasteries. The original excavations aimed at finding papyrus papers in Greek and Latin for which "OxereNakhus" was famous. Some of the collection was found in Raqoodah area in Alexandria and the importance of this group of monuments is mainly due to the unique style of embossed engravings with plants elements and folding leaves, in addition to geometrical units.
